Why photography?

Hi, I’m Jack, a self-taught photographer based in Manchester with a passion for capturing all of life's beauty. My journey began at the age of seven, inspired by a neighbour’s stunning garden oasis, which sparked my love for photography.Through self-learning and experimentation, I’ve honed my craft, always striving to capture moments that feel natural, timeless, and full of life. That is where Jack Metcalfe Photography was created. Whether I’m photographing the intricate details of nature, a loving couple's happy day or a person/group of people, I focus on telling stories through my lens.This portfolio showcases a collection of my favourite work.
